After we purchased a 1.5-Gallon water dispenser with a spigot which we could add ice and fruit to, I ordered this handier 25oz personal water bottle which allows me to cut pieces of fruit as well as herbs and place them in a center cage, to see if I could get the same effect.
I hadn’t been drinking enough water. I thought by adding some fruit infused water to my day, I would drink more. Well, it worked. I am now drinking more than 75 ounces of water a day and having fun trying different options of fruit and herbs to see which ones I like best.
The 25oz is the perfect size for a backpack and comes with a handy insulating sleeve and a loop for a clip. I also like the spring loaded flip top which seals the lid tight and has a locking ring so it doesn’t flip open by accident.
It can take around 10-15 minutes for the water to infuse unless you crush the fruit a little before you put it in.
The center cage screws into the lid so it is secure and the lid screws onto the bottle and seals as well.
On the side of the bottle, there are finger indents and a thumb indent to give you a comfortable grip and the BPA free plastic is not that hard, rigid, fragile plastic so it would survive in the gym pretty well.
I learned that you can refill the bottle several times using the same fruit and by shaking the bottle vigorously the holes in the cage cut away some small pieces and rough up the flesh of the fruit which adds a lot more flavor. I filled this one with Cotton Candy Grapes, Cherries and Blueberries. You can see the red hue from the cherry juice and flavor infusing.
My only concern is that the flip top cover would be vulnerable to breaking when it is open.
For the price, I like this one.
